Cookie Policy
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Fanon Private Limited ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar browser technologies on fanon-in.com (the "Platform"). It supplements our Privacy Policy. "Cookies" here includes cookies and technologies such as local and session storage unless stated otherwise.
2. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. On later visits, the site can read it to recognise your device, restore your session, or recall saved preferences. Session cookies expire when the browser session ends; persistent cookies remain until a set date.
Local storage is similar, but stores slightly more data on your device without sending it to the server with every request. We mainly use it to remember whether you dismissed the cookie notice.
3. How We Use Cookies
The table below sets out the cookie and storage categories used on the Platform.
| Category | What it does on Fanon | Examples | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in between pages, protects forms from cross-site request forgery, and records dismissal of the cookie notice | session token, CSRF token, cookie-banner-dismissed-ts (local storage) | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | Remembers choices such as reading theme and display language | theme preference, locale | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Measures pages and features creators use to improve the Platform. Data is aggregated, and no individual creator profiles are built for advertising | self-hosted analytics, anonymised page-view counters | Up to 13 months |
| Marketing | Not currently used | None | Not applicable |
4. Notice and Choices
Fanon uses notice-only consent. Strictly necessary and preference cookies activate automatically on Platform visits because they are essential to operation. Analytics cookies also load automatically; continued use after the notice acknowledges them.
You may opt out of analytics cookies anytime through the cookie notice banner. If dismissed, reopen it by selecting "Cookie preferences" in any page footer.
5. Third-Party Cookies
A small number of third-party providers may set cookies for analytics measurement. Each has a data processing agreement limiting use of data collected for us. We do not permit third-party advertising networks to set Platform cookies.
6. Manage Cookies in Your Browser
You can block or delete cookies through browser settings anytime. Blocking strictly necessary cookies can stop the Platform working properly, including keeping you signed in between pages.
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security
- For other browsers, see aboutcookies.org for guidance.
7. Policy Changes
We may revise this Cookie Policy when adding technologies or changing existing use. The top "Last updated" date will show changes. We will post notice on the Platform for material changes.
